Slow News Day

We've all seen "A Chistmas Story." Well, ok, at least those of us who've lived in the U.S. have been exposed to it. It's almost as ubiquitous as "It's a Wonderful Life" and "The Wizard of Oz".  Those of us who've lived anywhere cold have laughed more than we ought to at some of the scenes.  Especially the scene where Ralphie's friend gets his tongue stuck to the pole. It's funny for Califonians and Floridians because there's a somebody with his freakin' tongue stuck to a pole.  For the rest of us, we've seen it happen, or perhaps it's happened to us, so it's even funnier.

It happens every year.  Some new gullible kid ends up walking around for a couple weeks with a sore tongue and lacking the ability to taste Christmas dinner.  So my question is...  When did this become worthy of nationally syndicated news?

Really?  Is it that slow of a news day?  Are we going to start seeing missing cats reports on the internet?  Granted, this is on the "Weird News" section.  But a trip to my local Wal-Mart is going to present me with much weirder.  This is such a common occurrence that I honestly don't think that it's even news worthy.

Oh well, enjoy your Wednesday.
